If plan on spending your next vacations in Greece, you are spoiled for choice. Other than the Greek island classics, such as Rhodes or Crete, there is also the beautiful island of Kos.

Here are the hard facts: Kos is more than 28 times smaller than Crete and only 3.5 kilometers apart from the Turkish vacation destination Bodrum. Also, Kos has the most beautiful beaches of the Aegean islands. On Kos you can choose between sandy or pebble beaches. Despite many people saying that especially the places on the north coast, such as Tigáki, Marmári and Mastichári, have the nicer beaches in comparison to those places in the area of Kos town, they are definitely still nice – and as you know, tastes obviously differ.
For me as a photographer the island was a dream! There are countless cozy taverns that invite you to taste one or more glasses of Greek wine. The beaches are miles long and very well maintained. Even for those preferring active holidays, Kos has a lot to offer as well: windsurfing, catamaran sailing, kitesurfing and much more.

Kos Town, the capital of the island, is a must-see. Women can explore one of the many beautiful boutiques while their men wait for them in a cozy tavern. The Greeks prove to be very hospitable people, everywhere you feel the Greek spirit around you and the Greeks are very quick to connect.

On our Kos tour, we also passed Kefalos and discovered he restaurant “Agios Theologos”. Not only do they offer good food, but also good service and of course (if you come in the evening) a great view of the sunset. It is best to combine your dinner with a beach visit further down in front of the restaurant. For good seats with the best view, you should reserve a table in high season – this great tavern will certainly not remain a “secret tip“ much longer.
